There are two new beneficial programs we want to be sure you are aware of…
Electrify Everything!
This is a City of South Portland program that helps residents transition to clean renewable electricity as a power and heat source by providing rebates on electric vehicles, lawn equipment, e-bikes, heating & cooling systems, and home weatherization. This program is in addition to rebates and loans offered through Efficiency Maine and is for South Portland residents with a household income up to 100% of the area median income.

For more information on the program, how it benefits our local environment, if you qualify, rebate amounts and the application process, visit SouthPortland.org or reach out to Julie Rosenbach, South Portland’s sustainability director, at 207-347-4148 or jrosenbach@southportland.org.
FREEZE YOUR TAX BILL!
The Property Tax Stabilization Program is a new State program that allows certain senior-citizen residents to stabilize, or freeze, the property taxes on their homestead. As long as you qualify and file a timely application each year, the tax billed to you for your home will be frozen at the amount you were billed in the prior tax year. Are you at least 65 years old?
· Are you a permanent resident of Maine?
· Have you owned a home on Maine for at least 10 years?
· Do you current have a Homestead exemption on your property taxes?
Applications are due to the city Assessor’s Office by December 1st. Don’t miss this opportunity to reduce your property taxes! Call us if you need assistance getting an application or contact the city directly with any questions at 207-767-3201.
